Another Donation of 10,000 Trees to ASK

On September 14th 2006 Better Globe Forestry Ltd. executed a donation of 10,000 trees from Better Globe’s members to The Agriculture Society of Kenya (ASK). This is the second donation of 10,000 trees to ASK. The tree planting took place in Nyeri.

The Minister of Agriculture in Kenya, Honourable Kipruto Arap Kirwa, planted the first tree and thanked for the donation. Better Globe Forestry Ltd. was represented by the PR Director for Africa – Mrs. Julie Solberg, Managing Director Mr. Jean Paul Deprins and the Executive Director Mr. Jan Van den Abeele. They also joined a VIP lunch on the same day. At this lunch there were also many representatives from The Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition to the speeches made by the representatives from Better Globe, the Chairman of ASK, Mr Timothy Ogucha Omato, thanked on behalf of ASK for the donations made trough Better Globe Forestry by the members of Better Globe in Scandinavia.

One of the Leading Forestry Experts in Africa has started working with us

Jan Van den Abeele is one of the leading Forestry experts in Africa. He is now engaged as Executive Director for Better Globe Forestry Ltd. in Kenya from 1st August 2006.

The engagement of Jan Van den Abeele is a giant leap forward for Better Globe in Kenya. Jan is a Belgian forester/agronomist who has more than 26 years of experience within tree planting in Europe, South America, Asia and Africa. His long experience in Africa makes him one of the leading forestry people in Africa, especially for East-Africa. His expertise will also be used in the other areas where Better Globe Forestry will concentrate its work. Jan has also great experience on water management and irrigation techniques. He has carried through many projects of this kind in different developing countries.

On January 12th 2006 Better Globe Forestry executed a donation of 10,000 trees from Better Globe’s members to The Agriculture Society of Kenya (ASK). This was the first donation of 10,000 trees to ASK. The tree planting took place at the ASK International Show ground in Nairobi.
